Miss Marcella smith
2nd Grade

Miss Marcella Smith is excited to be joining the RLA community this coming school year. She graduated from Saint Vincent College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education as well as minors in both special education and music. She completed her student teaching experiences as a first grade teacher at Stanwood Elementary School and as a junior high life skills teacher at Greater Latrobe Junior High School.

 

Miss Smith has also worked at the Child and Career Development Center as an extended school year teacher to secondary life skills students through the Chester Country Intermediate Unit. Throughout her college career, Miss Smith collaborated with the Bearcat B.E.S.T. transition program at SVC by teaching, creating,

and implementing instructional plans to help students with developmental and intellectual disabilities acquire vocational skills.

 

Additionally, she also completed her educational field work by planning and implementing a preschool program at Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve and online enrichment programs for homeschool students in Latrobe, PA. Miss Smith is not only passionate about Catholic education rooted in classical pedagogy, but she also values creating meaningful relationships with her students and supporting their diverse learning needs.
