Advent appeal
A merry christmas to all

A most blessed Advent to you and your family. Soon we will celebrate the birth of our Savior at Christmas and are reminded once again that the Word became flesh to lead us back to our loving Father. May your holidays be overshadowed by his love as your reflections of this great gift are rekindled during the Christmas season.

The end of the year is often the time when our generosity is called upon to support the organizations we value. We hope that Regina Luminis Academy is at the top of your list.

By God’s grace, we are celebrating our 15th anniversary. Our school has grown from just 97 students four years ago to 166 today and inquiries are robust, and we anticipate to exceed our goal of 180 students. Our high school is at capacity. We are blessed with the challenge of figuring out how we can continue to provide the classrooms and faculty we need to accommodate our growing school community. This year we welcomed Mr. Andrew Youngblood as the Head of School and has worked with our faculty to enhance our classical curriculum and he has overseen our largest faculty expansion to date.

With more students, we are also able to offer more sports and clubs. This fall our young cross-country team won District Champions and competed at the state level where the RLA cross-country team earned the school’s first State Championship medal. In addition to this, we are expanding our sports to include volleyball, flag football and basketball clinic this December.

With the support of our community of benefactors, families, faculty, students, and alumni, we can continue to nourish our family of families and assist our students as they grow in wisdom and virtue to discern how they can respond to God’s call and fulfill the unique purpose He has for them in our troubled world and in our Church.

As one alumni reported, “Although I was only able to attend RLA for my senior year of high school, it changed my life. The community is one that is rare anywhere else. It is a strong faith-filled, family- centered, and welcoming place where I was able to have a better education than at any previous school. And it brought me closer to God.”

Or as parents of the school have commented: “Wonderful school that provides top notch education for our daughter. It's a peaceful island in today's educational landscape where often pushing an agenda tops other priorities. Not the case here. Highly recommended for those looking for classical education.” - Current Parent

"Great K-12 Catholic Classical Academy in Berwyn! Solid, faith-filled academics and strong athletics program" - Current Parent.

The revenue we receive from tuition only covers about 60% of the cost of operating our school. Without our donors, there would be no Regina Luminis Academy.

As we come to the end of the year, will you please consider a financial gift to support our school? We encourage you to ask your employer about matching your donation to Regina Luminis Academy. Many companies offer a matching donation for their employees, sometimes up to 3 times their donation amount!  If you are not able to make a cash gift, please consider participating in the EITC program, which allows you to designate your PA state taxes to support our school. We also welcome the gift of appreciated securities, and we especially welcome the gift of your prayers.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, our faculty, staff, and students, may the joy of Christmas be upon you and your families.  Merry Christmas!
