Mark Anthony

Chair (Officer)

Mark A. Anthony is a C-level executive, board member, entrepreneur, investor, mentor, and philanthropist with concentrations in technology, supply chain, product development, operations, marketing, and sales across major product and service industries. He has served on the RLA board of directors since the Academy’s conception.

Michael Tomko

Vice-Chair (Officer)

Michael Tomko, Ph.D, is a leader in Catholic higher education, serving as chair of Villanova’s interdisciplinary Department of Humanities with its innovative and faithful approach combining Great Books and Great Questions. He is the author of several books on Catholic culture and earned graduate degrees from Notre Dame and Oxford, where he met his wife, Dr. Helena Tomko. They live in Havertown, PA with their three daughters, their books, and their garden.

Michael J. Wassil

Treasurer (Officer)

 

Michael Wassil is the founder of Mercer Management Associates, a firm that provides

management advisory services to the Life Science and Healthcare sectors. Previously,

Michael began his career with Price Waterhouse followed by 35 years as a C-level executive with several Life Science companies. Michael is a graduate from King’s College with a BS in Accounting and Finance. He is also a Board member at the Sarah Ralston Foundation, a non-profit that supports underserved older adults in the Philadelphia region.

Pietro Giardini

Secretary (Officer)

Pietro Giardini graduated from Regina Luminis Academy in 2016, where he was among

the first students of the school. He went on to earn a degree in accounting from Widener

University in 2020 and began his career in public accounting. In 2021, Pietro married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Lanigan, also a 2016 graduate of Regina Luminis Academy.  They welcomed their daughter, Sophia, in 2024.

Patrick Brennan

Director

Patrick Brennan is a scholar working at the intersection of law, philosophy, and theology,

and has held the John F. Scarpa Chair in Catholic Legal Studies at Villanova University

School of Law for the past twenty years. A dedicated teacher and prolific writer, he also

serves as a Fellow of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology (Berkeley). He and his wife Sarah have two daughters, the older of whom is in her fifth year at Regina Luminis.

Amy Re

Director

Amy is a veteran teacher who began her career in education in 2001. She joined the RLA

faculty from 2018 to 2024 and has taught first, third, fourth, fifth and eighth grades in

response to the needs of RLA. A social worker by trade, Amy brings a whole-person approach to her work. She lives in Collegeville with her husband Anthony and her daughter Maggie who is in 10th grade while also continuing to support and encourage her five adult children.

Sergio Altomare

Director of Advancement

Sergio Altomare is the CEO and Co-Founder of Hearthfire Holdings, a real estate investment company. Prior to launching his business, Sergio spent 22 years in various technology leadership roles working for the Federal Reserve System. Sergio holds a BS in Computing and Security Technology from Drexel University. In his free time, he and his family enjoy the outdoors and are building Firethorn Farm, a non-profit dedicated to agri-culture therapy and education.
